SOFFA

Transgender_Symbol_Small
SOFFA (Significant Others, Family, Friends and Allies) of Transgender Persons is a support group for those close to someone who is or feels they may be transgender or transsexual.

We meet twice monthly, on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 6.30 – 8.00 at Johnson County Library meeting rooms.  Our aim is to help people handle their feelings, fears, hopes and learn to deal with the changes in their relationships, to help them adjust and to learn how to support their transgender/gender nonbinary person.  After most meetings, we go across to the Starbucks in Barnes & Noble across from Leawood Pioneer Library to chat further.

Please note that in order to encourage open communication about concerns and questions, SOFFA meetings are restricted to non-transpersons.  We do have several socials during the year for the whole family to attend (if they wish to).

If you have any questions about SOFFA, please email Fiona at SOFFAKC@yahoo.com.  There is also a SOFFA group on Facebook where you can chat privately or share resources – contact Fiona to be added.

This is a copy of our flyer with our information on – it prints two to a sheet if anyone wants to give a copy to friends, or people needing support – http://transascity.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/SOFFA7.pdf.
