George Edwin Turtle, a dentist and former Royal Navy officer, has received a gender change certificate, and will start living full-time as Georgina Carol Turtle. She is quoted as saying “I have an immense feeling of relief that it is out in the open at last.”

August 5, 1960. Rockford Illinois Register Republic, page D3

Another article regarding Georgina Turtle is published, with this one offering the unusual detail of her figure, given as “36-36-36.” Which if true would mean that she is straight as a board.
