Renée on the Court
Renée Richards is most famous for her revolutionary exploits in women’s tennis, as well as her winning a legal battle in the New York Supreme Court, whereby the Court found that transsexual women are legally women. There is a review of Richards’ first autobiography at this link on Transas City, and more information on her sports and socio-political views at this link within my transgender sports article. This page will collect other information on Richards, as well as some high-resolution photographs of her.
This photograph is of Richards being interviewed at the South Orange Country Club, New Jersey, on August 21, 1976. Click on the photograph below for a higher-resolution image.
