Pape, Willi or “Voo-Doo”

Little is known about Willi Pape, a dancer and cabaret artist who was better known under his stage name “Voo-Doo.” He was a very popular female impersonator in Berlin during the pre-WWII cabaret scene, and at one point owned his own café in Berlin. The café closed at the start of WWI, although Voo-Doo is known to have appeared in Wrocław in November, 1918 through November, 1921 at the Liebich theatre.

These are the only two photographs I currently have.
